Frequently Asked QuestionsCan I upgrade to the new Windows 7? For all users of Windows XP and Vista, the answer is YES. There are some considerations when you upgrade, depending on the O/S you are currently running. Upgrading from Win Vista to the equivalent Win 7 version, means you can insert the disc and follow the prompts. It will upgrade "over top" of your existing O/S. While you are not required to backup your files and settings, or reinstall your programs, however, it is always advisable to do a backup prior to new installations. If you are running Win XP (any version), you can use the upgrade version, BUT, you will need to do a clean install of the Windows 7. This means you are required to backup all your files and settings as the installation will wipe the drive. You will then need to reinstall all your programs, so make sure you have your program discs available. |
