What is required for wireless Internet?

You need the following:

• Wireless Modem / Router
• Wireless connection in your laptop or desktop

If you have a Broadband Modem, you can purchase a WiFi access point, or replace the Modem with a WiFi Router which has the Modem and wireless connection in one box. Often this router will also have 4-ports so you can connect to it with a network cable.

Normally your desktop won't have a WiFi connection, but as long as your system has a spare PCI port, you can just add a card in for around $60 - $70. If you don't have a spare PCI slot, you can get a WiFi dongle which plugs into your USB port and does the same job. You can have more than one system connected wirelessly at the same time.
