My software has reported that a virus has been deleted. What does this mean? Your virus software will normally look at all new files downloaded onto your system, or will check files as they are opened. The fact that your software has detected and deleted the threat is great, it's doing it's job. Sometimes with new viruses, virus software may see a file as suspicious but not know how to deal with it yet. In this case it often quarantines the suspicious file so it is safe from infecting your system further. Often when your virus software receives new updates, it will know how to deal with the threat and take care of it. If your software reports that it can't deal with the threat, you may need to contact the support centre. Updated: 15-04-2010 |
